Has anyone had the problem of missing all of the pit crews in all of the 2k3 sims? They're just not anywhere.
Did I turn them off? The only thing that allows me to urn them off is the Animated Crews in the options, that I know of, and it's checked. Animated or not animated, they're not there.
Did I install or change anything lately? Changed over to Firefox as a browser and downloaded Darlington_night_SBP08, changed the screen resolution to a larger size.
What have I done to remedy the situation? I tried switching between Open GL and D3D graphics, re-installing the War Wagon Crew mod, deleted Darlington_Night_SBP08, changed some of the graphics settings, but nothing has helped.
Is there somewhere in the folders that holds the crew, what would you call it, "engine"..."forms"..."program"? Could I copy and paste over that folder from the disk to put it back if it's missing?
This is the same computer I've had for awhile, everything's been fine, haven't changed any cards, this is a recent problem.
From the second reply below:
"Found the problem. Somehow, at some time, the objs.dat file disappeared in the objs folder. I have no idea how it happened because I was never in that folder. I couldn't get it off of the disk, so I renamed the original NASCAR Racing 2003 folder and installed the sim again. Then I could copy the objs.dat file and place it where it belonged. Deleted the newly installed sim and renamed the original sim back to what it should be. Everything is fine now. Thanks for helping."

Hey Gabby, open your player ini file with notepad, and scroll down to where the "Features" are listed, look for the line I have in bold & underlined text here, and if it is differant on yours than this, that is your problem. Change it to a 1 to enable pit crew animation, save file, go into game, and in the graphic options, make sure you have the pit crew box checked.

I am having a similar problem that I cannot figure out. Even on a fresh install, I only see one opponent pit crew member (pit sign holder). No other members and cars pit with invisible crew members. The Player.Ini folder Pitcrew option is set to "1" and the OppPitCrew_detail is set to "2". The objects.dat is the only file in the objects folder. Any clues or suggestions would be appreciated!

I think for FPS issues, the game creators made it so that you only saw YOUR OWN crew, but not the opponent crews..... This has been one of my biggest pet peeves for any NASCAR game, wether it be NASCAR Thunder 2004, NTG2011, or NR2003..... There are no crews except your own...... That's why I want to make a NASCAR game that has at least 2 crews of your opponents on either side (So at least 5, including yours) of your pit box.

When I said I was missing pit crews anywhere, I meant ANYWHERE in the sim, not just on pit road. I couldn't download or upload my pit crew paint scheme, or anybody else's pit crew, because they were not there. I added my solution in the original post, plus it's mentioned two posts above. But, that was my issue.
You see the opponents crew member? This sounds silly, but are you in the right car? Like, two car files named the same somehow? Or with the same pit crew schemes? Just throwing darts here. I presume this is offline. When you said "fresh install" are you just installing over the sim that you already have, or are you first totally uninstalling it through the "Programs and Features" option in the Control Panel? Totally uninstalling it, not just deleting it, is usually the best way to go. Just don't forget to save your car files somewhere else first. Uninstall, reinstall, run the patch and then check the sim to see if your issue is still there before you add your car files. However, if a person feels intent to mess with the .ini files and such, I'd suggest saving a copy of those files someplace, so you have something to fall back on, either that or write down everything you do exactly so you can change it back if you need to.
Personally, I could care less if the other crew members were there or not, especially since I race online. All I want or need are mine to show. "FPS" what is "FPS"? Sometimes I hate acronyms. I wonder how much memory space, whichever type that would be, you would need for a full field of animated crew members? How high-tech would the graphic cards need to be to handle everyone pitting at the same time? What I have right now is the "Warwagon" crew add on and it looks nice. Enjoy what you have. I also race NASCAR3 online and the only crew members there are my own, and they're stationary. If it's realism you want, then maybe they need to make the crew members more than holograms when the cars run into them, or stuck gas cans, or air hoses caught on bumpers, etc. But, I'm getting off point.

'FPS' stands for Frames Per Second, for those who don't know what that means. I'm also not trying to sound rude here , I'm just saying what it stands for....
No problem, I figured you might have been talking about the frame rates, but I couldn't get past "frames" in my mind, too much stuff in there nowadays. I'm starting to forget people I already know in order to make room for the name of people I just met.
