Hello loyal vistors and members of SAFER Barrier Project!!
Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Some of you might be wondering what has been the deal with the lack of postings, track releases, etc...here at SBP....Won't go into a whole bunch of detail about it, but there is good and bad news as far as the Project goes...The good news is that it is still All Systems Go for it's continuation!!!....the bad news is that some of the tracks that were slated to be completed prior to the start of the 2010 season (i.e. those in the TIPs menu) will be slightly delayed in there release due to some critical loss of track data necessary to a compile a finished product. This is part of the main reason why there hasn't been all that much posted particularly about the much anticipated release of Homestead-Miami Speedway. Have been trying like crazy to rejuvenate about a years time of data that has been lost due to nothing other than pure system failure....As already mentioned, wont go into all that much detail about it...fact is, have come to the realization that the data is gone and it's not coming back....
So, what does this actually mean...you might ask??...well, to put it simply.....The tracks you might have expected to be released here in short time will not occur....This does NOT mean that they shall not be completed and/or released at all, but simply they will be delayed.... (i.e. released at random in the 2010 season)
It will obviously take some time to regenerate the lost track data in order to compile a finished product...so PLEASE bear with it.
Also, please keep in mind that there are still plenty of the tracks in the Project that are completed (which include most of the first half of the regular NASCAR Cup Series schedule)!!!
Thanks to all for your continued support, patience and understanding.

J-Rock,
Sorry to hear about that on a couple of levels . Firstly (and selfishly) because I was one of those anxiously awaiting the release of Homestead - from the pics it was looking quite impressive. Secondly I know how irritated I get when I lose a spreadsheet that I have worked on for a few hours - can't imagine how you are feeling after losing something you spent nearly a year on. Hope a lot of the learnings through trying various things over the last year make it is easier to complete the tracks on the second time around!

Any thoughts on a Michigan SBP soon ??? Indy and Pocono are two others that really need some help. Thanks for the job you have done,
your tracks are the best out there. Fun to run and professionally done. All the guys at Fasttrax racing enjoy them.

"soon" ....now there is a four-letter word never hear around here ... ...
Most of the info for MIS have been recovered and it has been a grueling process to get it completed in time for upcoming events in league schedules...both online and off....
Would LOVE to be able to say that it shall be out tommorrow or even right NOW.... ...but that would be lying.... ....as always, work will continue to be done to get the track(s) out in as timely a manner as possible!!!
Appreciate ALL the supporters of the Project and we hope they will continue to find SBP as their #1 place for all track schedule needs!!... without them...SBP would not exist...
